Chapter 1 explores the nature and characteristics of mathematics, the language and symbols used in mathematics, and inductive and deductive reasoning to predict patterns. Chapter 2 presents the basic concepts of logic and the various rules of inferences and replacements necessary to prove the validity of arguments.
