Work competencies of selected secretaries in Buhi, Camarines Sur / Maria Lenny Laborte, Aljan Jack C. Lavadia, and Emerson S. Maguikay.

This study aims to survey the status of work competencies of Barangay Secretaries in Buhi, Camarines Sur and to assess their 21st century skills level. It seeks to answer the following questions (1.) To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of (a.) Name (b.) Age (c.) Gender (d.) Educational Attainment (e.) Barangay Address (f.) Number of years in service as barangay secretary; (2.) What are the work competencies of the respondents in terms of (a.) Oral communication (b.) Written communication (c.) Records management (d.) Computer literacy and operations (e.) Human relations; (3.) What factors affecting the working competencies of the twenty Barangay Secretaries in Buhi, Camarines Sur; (4.) What problems are encountered by the Barangay Secretaries in Buhi; and (5.) What recommendations maybe formulated to enhance the work competencies of Selected Barangay Secretaries in Buhi.
The conclusion drawn from the study are; (1.) The level of work competencies mostly were interpreted as not competent considering communication, written communication, records management, computer literacy and operations, and human relations. (2.) Considering the factors affecting the respondents in work competencies of all the competencies identified were never encountered. (3.) Considering the problems encountered by the respondents in their work competencies, all the competencies in terms of communication were occasionally encountered. (4.) There are recommendations proposed by the respondents as well as the researchers to enhance the work competencies of the selected barangay secretaries in Buhi, Camarines Sur.
