The Executive and Legislative had once again manifested their strong political will by enacting landmark laws in the Third Session of the 16th Congress for the utmost benefit of the people. On the economy, there is RA No. 10693 (Microfinance NGOS Act), RA No. 10744 (Credit Surety Fund Cooperative Act of 201 5), RA No. 10771 (Philippine Green Jobs Act of 2016), RA No. 10870 (Philippine Credit Card Industry Regulation Law), RA No. 10878 (Strengthening and Institutionalizing Direct credit Support of the LBP to Agrarian Reform beneficiaries, Small Farmers and Fisherfolk), and RA No. 10881 (Foreign Ownership Restriction). RA No. 10676 (Student-Athletes Protection Act), RA No. 10687 (Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education Act), RA No. 10871 (Basic Life Support Training in Schools Act), RA No. 1 0908 (Integrated History Act of 2016), and RA No. 10917 (Strengthening and Expanding the Special Program for Employment of Students) aims to promote the education sector. On justice, there is RA No. 10707 (Amending the Probation Law of 1976), RA No. 10741 (Strengthening the Operations of the National Labor Relations Commission), RA No. 10883 (New Anti- Carnapping Act of 2016), RA No. 10906 (Anti-Mail Order Spouse Act), RA No. 10909 (No Shortchanging Act of 2016), and RA No. 10910 (Amending Sec. 11, Anti-Graft & Corrupt Practices Act). RA No. 10915 (Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering sector. Act of 2016) is another developmental approach for the agriculture sector. On workers welfare, there is RA No. 10691 (amending the public employment service office act of (1999), RA NO. 10706 (Seafarers Protection Act), RA No. 10801 (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Act), RA 10911 (Anti-Age Discrimination in Employment Act), and RA No. 10912 (Continuing Professional 2016). On health, RA No. 10747 (Rare Disease Act of Philippines), RA No. 10754 (Further Amending the Magna Carta for Persons with Disability), RA No. 10767 (Comprehensive Tuberculosis Elimination Plan Act), and RA No. 10821 (Children's Emergency Relief and Protection Act) has for their objective the wellbeing of the people. The other enacted laws are within the ambit of social policy, security and good governance such: RA No. 10688 (Metallurgic Engineering Act of 2015), RA No. 10690 (The Forestry Profession Law), RA 10692 (The PAGASA Modernization Act), RA No. 10697 (Strategic Trade Management Act), RA No. 10698 (Naval Architecture Law), RA No. 10699 (National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act), RA No. 10742 (Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015), RA No. 10752 (The Right-of-Way Act), RA No. 10844 (Department of Information and Communications Technology Act of 2015), RA No. 10913 (Anti-Distracted Driving Act), RA No. 10882 (AFP Derivative Retirement Pension for Children/Survivors Act of 2016), RA No. 10884 (Balanced Housing Development Program Amendments), RA No. 10905 (Closed Caption Broadcasting of Television Programs), RA No. 10916 (Road Speed Limiter Act of 2016), and RA No. 10918 (Regulating and Modernizing the Practice of Pharmacy in the Philippines). The foregoing laws are categorical manifestation that the Aquino Administration and the 16th Congress had been very productive and proactive in facing the challenges to come up with relevant laws to meet the pressing needs of the country.
