520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "The beauty industry is a thriving business that includes cosmetics, perfume, skincare, and hair care products. It has been around for centuries, and its growth has been exponential in recent years, with a projected revenue of around US$131 billion by 2026. However, this growth has come at a cost to the environment due to the industry's plastic use. As a result, the beauty industry is undergoing an eco-awakening and transitioning towards sustainable development and resource efficiency, leading to the creation of green products.
Despite the negative impact on the environment, the beauty industry continues to prosper due to three unique circumstances. Firstly, consumers, mostly women, are on a journey of exploration, trying out new products and discovering new brands. Younger consumers are also rejecting large brands and seeking out locally-made, artisanal, natural products. Secondly, the need to be Instagrammable at all times has increased the demand for beauty products, leading to a surge in creativity and entrepreneurship. Finally, acquisitions by major beauty companies of smaller companies at high values are driving more creativity and innovation.
While similar circumstances have happened before in other consumer sectors, the bottom falling out of the beauty industry remains uncertain. The beauty industry has defied gravity for years, and it is difficult to predict when or what will cause its growth to end. However, the industry is evolving towards a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly future, which is a positive step towards reducing its negative impact on the planet.
The book consisting of eight chapters provides an overview of beauty care services and covers various topics related to it. It begins with an introduction to the industry, followed by a detailed discussion of skincare, makeup application, and hair care. The book then focuses on nail care, safety and sanitation, and customer service, which are important aspects of the beauty care industry. Finally, the book delves into the specialized services of eyebrow and eyelash care. The book covers a range of topics related to beauty care services, making it a useful resource for anyone interested in this field"-- Back cover.
